On My Way To Austin

On My Way To Austin

The sun came up over San Antone
And drove away the night
The rain had washed away the gloom
And everything was bright

I turned my horse to the north
And walked along the trail
I watched and listened to everything
And thought to tell this tale

You see, riders appeared in a cloud of dust
With their weapons at their side
They rode around my camp that day
And said they'd have my hide

I took my blaster from its holster
And laid them all to waste
I packed my things into their bags
And left there with great haste

I found my way to San Antone
In search of a better place
Now I'm on my way to Austin
And I must not leave a trace
